Departure to Ireland.

The Boyne Valley & A Visit to a Farm

On arrival to Dublin Airport we will met our Irish driver. We will travel to the pre Christian, megalithic burial site Brú na Boinne, where we will visit one of the passage Graves. After lunch we will visit Causey Farm where we will participate in some farm activities.

Journey in The Footsteps of St Patrick

This morning we travel to Armagh and meet with Rev Kiran Wimberly from the Centre of Celtic Spirituality. After morning worship at Armagh Cathedral, Kiran will lead us on a visit of this beautiful area of Strangford Lough, including the St Patrick’s Centre, Downpatrick Cathedral, Saul Church and Greyabbey. Dublin, Capital City of Ireland

Today we visit Dublin capital city of Ireland. We will visit Trinity College to see the magnificent Old Library and the 1200 year old Book of Kells. We will attend the Evensong service at St Patricks Cathedral at 17h30 and enjoy a traditional dinner of Fish & Chips afterwards.

Spiritual Journey through Glendalough

This morning we travel to Glendalough, the setting of some of Ireland’s most important monastic settlements, where we will meet Fr. Michael Rodgers . Michael will lead us on a spiritual journey along his Pilgrims’ walk through St. Kevin’s Monastic City.

Community Service in Glendalough

This morning we will meet again with Fr. Michael and we will spend the morning assisting him with a community project, for example, we may be helping a local heritage group to map out the old graveyard in the Monastic City. In the afternoon, we will travel                                                                                     to Galway on the West Coast of Ireland.           

Pilgrimage to Croagh Patrick: Ireland’s Holy Mountain

Today we make a pilgrimage to Croagh Patrick where we will have the option to climb this holy mountain accompanied by a local guide. The tradition of pilgrimage to this holy mountain stretches back over 5,000 years from the Stone Age to the present day without interruption.We will return to Galway.

The Ancient & Historical Aran Islands

This morning we take a ferry to the Aran Islands to see the impressive Bronze Age fortress of Dún Aonghasa overlooking a sheer 300-foot drop to the Atlantic. We will meet with local scholar and historian Padraigin Clancy and spend some time with her. We will reflect on the pre-Christian tradition as well as the monastic heritage on Aran.

Galway - City of the Tribes

This morning we will enjoy a guided walking tour of the Galway city including St Nicholas Church and the city museum. You will have some free time to explore this historic city before we continue our journey to Dublin Airport. En route back to Dublin we will stop at Clonmacnoise, an Early Christian site founded by St. Ciarán in the mid-6th century on the eastern bank of the River Shannon.

Day of Departure

We will take an airport shuttle to the airport for our departure Dublin Airport.
